JASON A. HIGGINS, M.D.
EDUCATION & SPECIALITY
Jason A. Higgins, M.D. grew up in Thibodaux, Louisiana and graduated from
Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Higgins received his Doctor of
Medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. He completed
residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. Dr. Higgins
also performed an externship in Australia as Chief Resident learning different techniques
from surgeons abroad. In Los Angeles, he completed fellowship training in Sports Medicine
and Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute
(SCOI). He specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee,
hip, ankle and elbow.
RESEARCH/EXPERIENCE/COMMUNITY SERVICE
Dr. Higgins participated in a variety of research projects and publications in
both trauma and sports medicine. He also wrote a textbook chapter for shoulder arthroscopy. Dr.
Higgins has extensive experience treating athletic injuries and has been credited as an instructor
of orthopedic surgery, teaching shoulder arthroscopy techniques to other orthopaedic surgeons.
Dr. Higgins served as the team physician for several high schools and universities including
the University of Oklahoma. He currently provides consult for a number of NFL players with
injuries.
PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES
He is a member of the American Medical Association, Arthroscopy Association of
North America, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of
Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a member of the Louisiana Medical Society and the Lafourche Parish
Medical Society.
HOBBIES
Outside of the office, Dr. Higgins enjoys time with family, fishing, jogging,
hunting, golf and travel.

DAVID W. ELIAS, M.D.
EDUCATION & SPECIALITY
David W. Elias, M.D. grew up in Monroe, Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana State
University in Baton Rouge. Dr. Elias received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana
State University School of Medicine in Shreveport where he was elected to the Alpha Omega
Alpha Honor Society. He completed residency at Campbell Clinic with the University of
Tennessee in Memphis and subsequently completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and
Arthroscopy with San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine. He specializes in arthroscopic
and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip, ankle and elbow.
RESEARCH/EXPERIENCE/COMMUNITY SERVICE
Dr. Elias has participated in a variety of research projects and publications in

PATRICK R. ELLENDER, M.D
EDUCATION & SPECIALITY
Dr. Patrick Ellender received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in
New Orleans. He performed his Orthopaedic surgical residency at Louisiana State University Department
of Orthopaedic Surgery in New Orleans. Additionally, Dr. Ellender completed an Orthopaedic Sports
Medicine Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in
Boston. Dr. Ellender specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip,
ankle and elbow. He also has additional training & experience with cartilage repair and joint
preservation surgery.
He is on the active medical staff of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center & Bayou Region Surgical Center.
CERTIFICATION
Dr. Ellender is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
